ODDASSITY® – “The Unforgettable Party Game for Mischievous People”
A bold card game built around dares, improv, and unapologetic humor. Launched in 2018 under Social Lubricant Games (Berkeley, CA), the game was created by three friends (myself included) with the goal of bringing more bite and wit to the party game category.
Building the ODDASSITY® Brand
As a founding partner and head of creative, I co-built the ODDASSITY® brand from the ground up—defining the logo, packaging, card design, tone of voice, and our irreverent mascot, Jack D. Ass. Beyond the visual identity, I helped shape the gameplay system itself, including brand governance, rating system design, and rules documentation, ensuring the experience remained clear, scalable, and unmistakably on-brand. I also developed the visual campaign supporting a successful Kickstarter launch, along with social and video content.
The result is a distinctive, packaging-led brand with a cohesive visual and experiential language that translates seamlessly across physical products, digital platforms, and expanded product lines.
Packaging That Balances Sophistication and Satire
A mischievous party game with bold design and bigger laughs. The Oddassity® core deck package introduces our brand mascot, Jack D. Ass, illustrated in a retro style reminiscent of satirical political cartoons. His witty tagline under his portrait, ‘Dignity is Overrated,’ sets the irreverent tone of the game’s unfiltered humor. The packaging design uses a matte black foundation for sophistication, contrasted by Jack’s glossy cameo portrait, creating a striking juxtaposition of elegance and mischief. This balance of refinement and satire visually captures the Oddassity® brand and its unapologetically bold gameplay.​​​​​​​

Extending the Brand Beyond the Core Game
​​​​​​​The success of the ODDASSITY® Core Game in living rooms and game stores revealed a natural next step: translating the full Oddassity® experience into convenient, portable formats designed for play while traveling or in social bar settings—without losing its irreverent edge. The resulting Pocket Packs are complete, themed versions of the game that stand on their own, delivering the same bold humor and gameplay without requiring the original core deck.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Designing the Rules...Not Just the Look​​​​​​​
Gameplay Manual & Player Experience
To ensure ODDASSITY® was easy to learn and fun to scale for any group, I designed and wrote the official gameplay manual, translating the game’s irreverent personality into clear, approachable instructions. The manual balances humor with clarity, guiding players through setup, rules, and variations while reinforcing the tone and attitude of the brand from the very first read. 


Tiered Rating System Design
I also helped create and define ODDASSITY’s tiered rating system, allowing players to tailor the experience to their comfort level. Cards are categorized as Mild, NSFP (Not Safe for Prudes), NC (Needs Consent), and R (Racy, Rambunctious, and Ridiculous), giving groups control over intensity while keeping gameplay inclusive and intentional. This system made the game adaptable to different audiences and settings without diluting its edge.


Mascot Variations as Brand Reinforcement
To visually reinforce the rating system and maintain brand consistency, the team and I developed mascot variations of Jack D. Ass tied to each card tier. Each version subtly shifts Jack’s look and attitude to match the tone of the rating and content, using humor and visual cues to signal what players can expect. This approach extended the brand language beyond packaging and into gameplay itself, turning Jack into both a narrative guide and a functional UX element.
Expanded reach and impact. The cohesive branding, design and marketing I created for Oddassity® helped the brand launch a successful Kickstarter campaign, reach over 40 retail stores nationwide, launch successfully on Amazon, and position the brand for expansion into big-box distribution.
Social media that sells and entertains—because dignity is overrated.  
As head of creative, I developed Oddassity’s social media presence to both promote the product and capture the mischievous lifestyle of the brand. From holiday promotions and Amazon Prime Day specials to Black Friday campaigns, each post was designed to stay true to Oddassity’s irreverent voice while reaching a wide, diverse audience. Balancing sales-driven strategy with authentic brand personality was key, resulting in a feed that not only boosted visibility and engagement but also extended the game’s bold, witty energy into the digital space.
ODDASSITY® Website Design and Development
We packed laughter in a box, then built a site to share it with the world! I designed and built the Oddassity® website using Wix, shaping its overall look, feel, and flow to match the bold, mischievous personality of the brand. From the homepage tagline “We packed Laughter in a Box” to the user-friendly navigation, the site was created to welcome visitors into the Oddassity experience. I also developed the ecommerce store, integrating inventory management and banking systems to provide a seamless shopping experience. The result was a digital hub that combined brand storytelling with functional design, giving Oddassity® a strong online presence to complement its retail identity.  ​​​​​​​
